Three childhood best friends venture across a forbidden barrier into No-Man's-Land, hoping to prove their bravery and postpone growing up. In their illegal, makeshift clubhouse in this uncharted territory, a stranger discovers them.

On the divided Mediterranean island of Cyprus, three childhood friends venture across the forbidden border into No-Man’s-Land, where they have created a clubhouse. This dangerous location serves as a haven for the boys where they can forget about the looming duties of adulthood. A stranger arrives at their clubhouse and this confrontation between cultures puts pressure on their friendships.

Director Statement:

I grew up in Cyprus from when I was three years old, until I was seven. I used to walk down Ledra Street in Nicosia as far as it was allowed, and look up at the wall, wondering what was on the other side. I returned to Cyprus in 2017 after more crossing points had opened. The wall on Ledra Street had been opened up and I was able to cross over to the north of the city for the first time. It was amazing how within six blocks the architecture, currency, language, fashion, and food all changed. I want to show the world what a special place Cyprus is and how badly I wish there could be peace.

A lot of people have never heard of Cyprus, let alone have any awareness of the political situation there. I would like this film to reflect my love for the country and the people I know there, but also be an eye-opener to the island’s troubled past and unsettled future. I want to show the deep impact of history on the day-to-day lives of ordinary people.
